The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the organisation’s expectations are met when a baby is being either formally or informally adopted following a birth within Auckland District Health Board (ADHB).
This policy outlines the responsibilities of clinicians in women’s health maternity including access holder lead maternity carers (LMCs) when caring for and dealing with a baby who will be placed in the care of persons other than the birth parent(s).
