National Advisory Group for Power 2 Protect
The purpose of the Power to Protect National Shaken Baby Prevention Advisory Group (P2PAG) is to support the management of Power to Protect and identify opportunities to form partnerships with other groups and organisations which seek to reduce the incidence of abusive head trauma in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Functions
The functions of the P2PAG are to:
Provide oversight of Power to Protect
Support the National Power to Protect Co-ordinator role
Support implementation of Power to Protect across Aotearoa New Zealand
Identify ways to enhance the programme
Provide advice on abusive head trauma prevention issues and projects
Provide advice to assist decision-making related to implementation and development of the programme.
Guiding principles
The fundamental principle of the P2PAG is to provide strategic guidance and support for implementation and development of Power to Protect across Aotearoa New Zealand.
The Advisory Group will operate in a culturally appropriate, sensitive, and responsive manner that is objective, impartial and has a systemic focus on shared learning in order to improve/enhance current and future systems, policy and practice.

P2PAG Advisory Group members are senior representatives from Manatū Hauora, Te Whatu Ora and a range of relevant healthcare and community organisations.
